API key
What the key is for, how to create one and how to handle it
Updated October 17, 2026
A key is the pass for any tool that works with your projects instead of the cabinet: the terminal, your AI agent or your own script.
What it opens
Exactly what your own login opens: the projects and bots you have access to, and the same actions. The key is you, not one project or bot — so every command names its project (--projectId), and commands about a chat in one channel name the bot too (--botId).
Creating one
- 1
Settings → API keys
- 2
Give it a name, so you can tell later whose key it is — «Laptop», «Claude Code», «Reporting server»
- 3
Press «Create» and copy the key right away
The key is shown once, right after it is created. We keep only a fingerprint of it: we can check a key you present, we cannot read it back. The list keeps the name, the date and the last characters, enough to recognise it.
Lost it — create a new one and delete the old.
Rules of handling
- One key per tool and per machine. Then a lost laptop is revoked with a single click and everything else keeps working.
- Not in a repository, not in a chat. A config file, an environment variable, a password manager.
- Revoking is instant — the bin icon in the key's row. A tool holding that key stops working immediately.
